The Philippines, with its more than 7,000 islands, is full of hidden gems. Some popular ones like Boracay, Palawan, and Cebu are well-known to tourists, but there are many lesser-known places that are just as beautiful and worth visiting.

Here are a few:

Camiguin:

This island province in Mindanao is known as the "Island Born of Fire" due to its numerous volcanoes. It offers beautiful sandbars, hot and cold springs, waterfalls, and a sunken cemetery that can be visited by boat during low tide.

Masbate:

Masbate is a province often overlooked by tourists. It's perfect for those who love the quiet, country life. The annual Rodeo Masbateño is something to look forward to. Its beautiful beaches and dive sites are also worth exploring.

Siargao:

Known as the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, Siargao is famous for its surfing spots, particularly Cloud 9. But there's more to Siargao than surfing. It also has stunning lagoons, rock pools, and mangrove forests.

Samar:

Samar is rich in natural wonders like caves, rivers, and waterfalls. The Sohoton Natural Bridge National Park, Lulugayan Falls, and the Calbiga Caves are some of the must-visit attractions.

Biri Island, Northern Samar:

Famous for its rock formations created by the waves and wind, Biri Island is an artist's and a photographer's paradise. It's a little off the beaten track, but the journey is worth it.

Danjugan Island:

his marine reserve and wildlife sanctuary in Negros Occidental is a haven for nature lovers. With its five lagoons, vast coral reefs, and diverse wildlife, it offers a unique eco-tourism experience.

Remember, while these locations might be less visited, they still deserve the same respect and care that popular tourist destinations do. Always adhere to local rules and customs, and aim to leave no trace behind to preserve these beautiful places.
