SECTION 1: STRICT IMPLEMENTATION OF SECTION 1(9) OF MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 024, SERIES OF 2020, EXCLUDING FOOD PREPARATION FROM ALL ISLAND TOURS
Effective immediately, food will no longer be included in the services provided by travel agencies, travel operators, and boat operators for island tours and activities.
This decision is in accordance with Section 1(9) of Municipal Ordinance No. 024, Series of 2020.
SECTION 2: ALTERNATIVE FOOD OPTIONS
The following alternative food options are available:
2.1
Guests may, at their own discretion, bring food for consumption during island tours and activities. However, the food must be procured from licensed and reputable restaurants operating in the municipality.
2.2
Finger foods that do not require utensils, such as bread, cookies, and sandwiches, are highly recommended.
2.3
The following foods are highly discouraged from being brought to the island as they spoil easily:
- Dairy products
- Milk and milk products
- Food with soup or sauces
- Shellfish
2.4
Foods brought to the island tours and activities must be consumed within two (2) hours after cooking and packing. This is to comply with food safety protocols and limit the exposure of food to the temperature danger zone (5°C to 60°C) to a maximum of two hours.
2.5
Foods brought to the islands must be placed in clean, food-grade containers and stored in clean insulated boxes/bags and ice boxes to maintain appropriate hot and cold temperatures.
2.6
Hot food and cold food should be kept and stored in separate insulated boxes/containers throughout the trip before consumption.
2.7
Fruits that do not require slicing may also be brought to the island tours and activities, but fruit carving is not allowed.
